Bio

Salisha Marryshow Batson is a highly accomplished individual with a profound interest in public health policy and global health. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the field, holding a master's degree in public health and currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the same field. Salisha has excelled in her work in the public health sector, where she has garnered a vast amount of experience in clinical health research and community engagement. Her research has been focused on improving public health outcomes related to diabetes, maternal health, and precision medicine.

Saisha’s passion for public health policy and global health has inspired her to pursue a Ph.D. to gain a deeper understanding of the social, economic, and political forces that impact public health policies and practices. She believes that effective public health policies require a thorough understanding of social determinants of health, including poverty, inequality, and discrimination.

Salisha is committed to leveraging her academic and professional expertise to develop evidence-based, equitable, and effective public health policies and programs at both the local and global level. She seeks to work collaboratively with communities, policymakers, and stakeholders to create a healthier and more equitable world. Salisha is also a devoted mother to Josiah, who has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy. Her son's diagnosis has fueled her advocacy passion for children with disabilities and providing support to parents of children with Down Syndrome. She contributes to several organizations, including the Tennessee Respite Coalition and the Government Accountability Office, to make a positive impact on people's lives.
