Bio
Gifty Pokuaa Abankwa hails from Ghana, West Africa, and has called North America home for her entire adult life. With a diverse educational background, including a certificate in Intercultural Peace Building, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Intercultural Communication from Brigham Young University - Hawaii, and an MBA specializing in Business Administration from Utah Valley University, Gifty embodies a unique blend of global perspectives and academic excellence.
Currently immersed in the realm of education technology, Gifty works on a team that spearheads initiatives in education technology, empowering K-16 students to envisage their futures. Through innovative programs, they work to bridge the gap between classrooms and real-world opportunities, facilitating connections with industry luminaries nationwide.
Deeply committed to community engagement, Gifty lends her talents to various organizations, including the GK Folks Foundation, where she has served in multifaceted roles such as Pageant Director, Chief Program Officer, Project Manager, and Social Media Manager. Additionally, she holds the position of Education Program Director for The Shara Foundation, further amplifying her impact within her community.
Driven by a boundless desire to make a positive impact, Gifty's altruism extends seamlessly into her personal life. When she's not working or volunteering, she treasures moments with her husband Chris and their two beautiful daughters.
